The Story
North Tawton was the backdrop for the 2006 BBC TV SitCom Jam and Jerusalem. Cheese was a major feature - it is in fact a tradable commodity in North Tawton as many folk work at the Taw Valley Creamery. (There is a second monkey puzzle tree on the edge of the village near the cheese factory.) Gregory Transport - brown trucks with a yellow name - is based here and has in recent years purchased a number of Scottish hauliers including Craibs of Aberdeen, Hayton Coulthard and Pollocks. They all use the strap line 'Delivering Winners'. Near the tree is a branch of Graylings Fish and Chip Shops which I can recommend.
