The Story
This monkey puzzle tree is on the main A377 road heading out of Exeter towards Matford. It is between the Aldi and the Sainsbury's but you won't miss it. The tree stands outside No. 40. LeRoy's Funeral Directors is at No. 10.(I can confirm they do a good funeral.) If you are around here, a walk down by the ship canal towards Marsh Barton is worthwhile. The aluminium cruise boat Spirit of Loch Ness was built here for Fort Augustus in 2018, however Exeter Fabrication - later Coastal Workboats is now in liquidation. A monkey puzzle day out from here could include a trip to the Bicton College group or passengers could spot the Starcross Yacht Club's monkey puzzle from the train to Dawlish.
