The Story
You'll find this monkey puzzle tree in the Citadel Park in Ghent. The tree may date from 1913 when the park was developed for the World Expo - but it looks a bit young for that. The venue was also changed ahead of the 100th anniversary of Belgium as an independent country - in 1930 and housed a bunker ahead of the German invasion, so who knows? Anyway, it is a nice tree that has had plenty of room to develop its shape.
