A fine specimen in its natural habitat
Just before you get to Toscaig Pier, you can't miss this shoreline monkey puzzle tree in an idyllic setting. I am old enough to remember sailing out of Toscaig on the pinnacle that was the ferry to Kyle of Lochalsh over 50 years ago with Maclean and MacRae. The boat - now the Sileas - is still sailing on fresh water on Loch Shiel. The tree is lonely. There is another monkey puzzle tree in Applecross in the walled garden, a few miles to the north.
