Mildly Eccentric
A touch unexpected, rather charming
You can imagine my delight when, on a ramble through a neighborhood I haven't frequented much, I stumbled on these three trees. They're in the parking strip on two sides of a gloriously over-planted corner lot in the Grant Park neighborhood of Portland. Careful scrutiny of Google Streetview history tells us that these were all planted sometime between 2014 and 2019. They are mere babies. I salute the homeowners, who've also filled their yard with bamboo (which they must by now be regretting, as we all do who have foolishly planted bamboo), palms, and whatever those spiky desert-looking things are. Yucca, maybe?
