A fine specimen in its natural habitat
The beaches of West Harris are legendary. In recent years more houses have been built between the road and the shore, like this one. Harris has quite a few monkey puzzle trees including the large specimen at the Manse at Tarbert and the smaller trees on the islets near the Askernish Golf Course. The Seilebost group is establishing well around this new build and confirming that salt spray is no hassle for the species. I recall there were five planted here.
